DANCE WITH ME
Does your toddler love to dance? Come dance with your little one in this 45-minute introduction to dance class! This class is best suited for toddlers ages 1-3 years old and participation from a parent or caregiver is required. Dance With Me provides our youngest dancers with a foundation in ballet, jazz, and creative movement in a fun and nurturing environment. It will also help develop musicality, balance, coordination, and motor skills. Props are used in this class for increased engagement and self-discovery.
COMBO CLASSES
Our Combo Classes are independent, recreational classes that provide two different styles all in one dance class. These classes give dancers a more formal introduction to ballet/jazz, ballet/tap, or tap/musical theater technique. During the musical theater combo classes, dancers will learn choreography to different songs from musicals. In all our combo classes, dance terminology is introduced as dancers build balance, coordination, and flexibility.
JAZZ
Our jazz class is a fun and energetic atmosphere where dancers work on technique, flexibility, and strength. Dancers will learn various styles in this genre. The structure of this class is a warm-up, jazz progressions across the floor and a combination in which students learn choreography.
BALLET
Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms and is mandatory for our Company Members. Dancers will focus on ballet technique including proper body placement, carriage, and execution of steps. There will be an emphasis on barre work, focusing on muscle development and musicality.
TAP
In tap, dancers will use the sound of their shoes as a percussive instrument. Dancers will focus on rhythm, speed, syncopation and a variety of different steps both in center and across the floor.
CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary is a fusion of jazz, modern, and ballet techniques. It encourages dancers to portray a wide array of expressive movements and emotions. Classes include technique and choreography as well as improvisation.
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
This class is designed to enhance dance technique with strength and flexibility exercises. It involves a combination of cardio and bodyweight exercises to supplement the technique learned in other classes.
MUSICAL THEATER PERFORMANCE
Does your child love to dance, act, and sing? In our Musical Theater Performance class, students will become triple threats as they rehearse and perform in a musical. Students will practice dialogue, music and choreography in preparation for their performance. Auditions will be held for all roles at the beginning of the year with a culminating performance in the Spring. For the 23-24 Dance Season, we will be performing Annie Jr. (Please note, this class has a performance separate from our dance recital.)
LEAPS AND TURNS
Dancers will build upon their dance technique in this class that focuses on leaps, turns, and flexibility. This class breaks down the technical sequencing and fundamentals for each skill.
