Musical theater is at the heart of what makes The Dance House different. While many studios focus on dance alone, we believe in developing triple threats: performers who can dance, act, and sing with confidence and intention.

Through musical theater, dancers learn how to tell stories, express emotion, and connect with an audience. It builds stage presence, creativity, and confidence in a way that extends far beyond performance. This well-rounded approach allows dancers to grow not only as artists, but as communicators and collaborators.

At The Dance House, musical theater isn’t an add-on, it’s a core part of our identity, and a rare offering within our community.

Musical Theater at
The Dance House

Broadway basics

In this class, students build their skills in singing, acting, and musical theater dance, giving them all the tools they need to grow as confident, well-rounded performers. Every few weeks, we spotlight a different musical, learning both songs and choreography from the show. This class runs throughout the dance season and culminates in a song-and-dance routine in our Spring Recital.

Performance Classes

Our performance classes bring everything together as students rehearse and perform in a full-scale musical production. Classes include dialogue, music, and choreography, culminating in a live performance.

Licensed Productions

We proudly produce fully licensed musicals through Music Theatre International (MTI), offering students the experience of participating in professional-style productions with costumes, lighting, sound, and staging.

Parents consistently tell us they see growth that goes far beyond the stage. Our program offers a professional yet nurturing environment where students can confidently begin their theater journey. Through performance and self-expression, dancers develop confidence, strong stage presence, poise, teamwork, and collaboration, while also strengthening their creative expression and storytelling skills.

Students also are given opportunities throughout the year to learn directly from Broadway professionals through master classes and Q&A sessions, adding inspiration, real-world insight, and excitement to their training.

The impact of this training extends well beyond the stage, fostering self-belief, communication skills, and a lasting sense of accomplishment. That foundation has opened doors for many TDH alumni, who have gone on to perform in Broadway National Tours and Regional Theater.
